February is School-Based Health Center (SBHC) Awareness Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the vital role that SBHCs play in supporting student health and academic success. At the Regional Alliance for Healthy Schools (RAHS), we are proud to be part of this national movement, providing comprehensive health services directly within schools to ensure that children and adolescents 21 years old and younger have access to the care they need.

The Importance of School-Based Health Centers

SBHCs are designed to meet youth where they are, offering a range of services including physical and behavioral health care, tangible resource support, and preventive care. By integrating health services into the school environment, SBHCs help reduce access barriers such as transportation issues, scheduling conflicts, and financial concerns. This model ensures that youth can receive timely care without missing valuable classroom time.

Our Commitment at RAHS

RAHS is dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of children and adolescents through accessible, high-quality health care services. Our team works collaboratively with schools, families, and communities to create a supportive environment where children and adolescents can thrive. By addressing physical and behavioral health needs, we empower students to achieve their full academic and personal potential.

Join Us in Raising Awareness

This month, we encourage everyone to learn more about the impact of SBHCs and to support initiatives that expand access to school-based health services. Together, we can ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed in a healthy and supportive environment.
